Hybrid yachts and world premieres at Cannes Yachting Festival 2024

The Cannes Yachting Festival 2024 promises to be a landmark event, featuring over 700 boats and 650 exhibitors, with more than 50 world premieres scheduled. Taking place from September 10-15, the festival will be held across Port Vieux and Port Canto, showcasing cutting-edge innovations in yacht design and technology. This year’s focus is on sustainability and hybrid technologies, reflecting the maritime industry’s growing commitment to eco-friendly solutions.

One of the most exciting debuts at the festival is the Azimut Seadeck 7, a luxury hybrid yacht from Azimut Yachts. As part of the Seadeck series, this 21.7-meter yacht is designed to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 40% through a combination of Volvo IPS 1200 engines and energy-efficient systems. Its standout feature is the Fun Island, an open-air lounge that allows for a closer connection with the sea, featuring foldable bulwarks and a hydraulic platform that extends into the water. This unique design blurs the line between interior and exterior spaces, offering guests an unparalleled yachting experience.

Designed by Alberto Mancini, the Seadeck 7 prioritizes both aesthetics and sustainability, using recycled and recyclable materials like cork instead of traditional teak. Inside, the yacht boasts four cabins and can accommodate up to eight guests along with crew, offering spacious, luxurious living quarters while maintaining an environmentally conscious approach. The Fun Island design and large windows create a seamless transition between the interior and the surrounding ocean, enhancing the overall experience for passengers.

In addition to the Seadeck 7, the festival will feature a variety of hybrid and electric yachts, highlighting the industry’s shift towards more sustainable propulsion systems. This includes other innovations such as Yanmar’s new electric offerings, which will also debut at Cannes.
